The Standardisation Consumer and Employee Council, (SKA-Council), formed in 1990 to safeguard users' influence over the standardisation process.

In order to do so the SKA-Council part of the money that the government benefits to standardization. The money is used to support users with financial support, education and information.

The purpose of the SKA-council is to:

increase awareness of user related issues
strengthen the involvement of users in different standardization projects , nationally and internationally
monitor and evaluate standardisation projects that are of particular interest to users
participation in international cooperation in the field of standardisation
The SKA Council are representatives of Swedish Agency for Participation, Disability Federation , the Swedish Consumer Agency , the Swedish Consumer , Nature Conservation , LO and TCO .
